In India, chai is almost like a national beverage. How do you encourage people to move from their daily cup of chai to trying Iśvara’s blends?
Chai is deeply rooted in India’s culture, and we respect that bond. What we aim to do is not replace chai, but to introduce people to a wider world of tea, one that’s playful, experimental, and full of discovery. By curating blends that combine traditional notes with unique botanicals, we give chai lovers a chance to expand their tea journey. It’s not about giving up chai, but about embracing new rituals alongside it.
What’s one common myth about tea that you’d like to bust for your consumers?
A common misconception is that tea is only about “chai” or “green tea.” In reality, tea is incredibly diverse ranging from floral and fruity to smoky and spicy. Each blend can serve a different purpose: energizing, calming, healing, or simply indulging. Tea is not a one-size-fits-all drink; it’s a universe of flavors waiting to be explored.
How do you go about creating and curating the unique flavours in your collection?
Our process is both artistic and scientific. We start with premium whole-leaf teas sourced from ethical gardens and then experiment with herbs, flowers, and spices that reflect India’s abundance. Each blend is curated with intention whether it’s to uplift energy, enhance focus, or evoke nostalgia.
Could you share the story and inspiration behind your Goddess Lakshmi gift set?
The Goddess Lakshmi gift set was born out of the idea of abundance, prosperity, and divine grace. Lakshmi represents beauty, well-being, and positivity values that we wanted to infuse into this collection. The set is designed as more than a gift; it’s a gesture of blessings, a way to share joy and gratitude. Every detail, from the choice of blends to the packaging, embodies her spirit of prosperity and elegance.
What’s one piece of advice you’d like to offer budding entrepreneurs?
Stay rooted in your “why.” Entrepreneurship is a journey full of challenges, but if you are clear about your purpose, it will guide you through the ups and downs. Be patient, stay curious, and remember that growth comes from consistency and authenticity.
How do you strike the balance between preserving traditions and reinterpreting it for today's generation ?
Our mission is both. We preserve the wisdom of India’s tea heritage, reinterpret it with creativity for today’s lifestyles, and in doing so, we create a bridge between generations. A grandmother’s ritual can become a granddaughter’s lifestyle choice, just expressed differently. For us, balance comes naturally when we respect tradition while allowing innovation to flow.
What's your idea of success ?
For Iśvara, success is not measured only in numbers but in moments when someone pauses their day, takes a sip of our tea, and feels nourished, connected, or inspired. Success is creating experiences that linger, building a community of tea lovers, and leaving behind something meaningful for future generations.
