What do we inherit, what do we carry with us, and what do we make our own?
Tangerine’s fourth print edition explores the many ways identity takes shape through the places we come from, the cultures we grow up around, the things we inherit, and the experiences that change us along the way.
Inside, you’ll find interviews with four artists exploring how their backgrounds, histories and inherited identities find their way into their contemporary practices, alongside conversations with four artists reflecting on the places they come from and the things they carry forward.
The issue also features a conversation about documenting Delhi homes and the histories held within them, a feature on spaces that allow artists to experiment, explore and exist beyond conventional boundaries, and an open-call section bringing together artists whose existing works resonate with the theme.
And there’s a little something extra tucked inside. Issue 04 includes a tiny zine created in collaboration with Manasvi, a multidisciplinary designer, talking about how spaces in a home are borrowed and a comic made with Ankita, an illustrator, around our favourite comfort food. The comic comes with a few panels left open for you to colour, making it something you can interact with, personalise and make your own.
A collection of stories, images and ideas about everything we borrow, everything we change, and everything we become along the way.
